My child loves chalk, like loves chalk! However, the weather is not always conducive to going outside and playing. The way I solved this was by making a chalkboard indoors! I came across this product on Amazon and I am so glad I did! Originally I was going to use it to display her pictures at her birthday party but I definitely had too many projects going!!
The one and only Step!
I am sure you guys have heard of contact paper, well have you heard of chalkboard contact paper? First, I took an old dry erase board and I covered it in the chalkboard contact paper. Don’t have a dry erase board? Here is an affordable one and don’t worry I used one exactly like this!
Cut the contact paper to the size of the dry erase board using the grid on the back. It peels off and you just stick it right on! It is literally that simple! Best part is it comes off easily and can be adjusted. It even came with chalk and a piece of cloth to wipe off the chalk. However, I will say it doesn’t wipe 100% clean but that does not really bother me honestly.
I ordered this product for $10 and was able to make two chalkboards. Best part, I still have leftover product! I put some contact paper on her play table. The second is the dry erase board!
Guess what? I still have some left over!! You can either choose to hold onto it or you can check out this checklist for ideas around the home to use it for! I have compiled a list of links to some awesome ideas I found on Pinterest!
